Eric Ebron Signs With the Pittsburgh Steelers

Six-year NFL tight end, Eric Ebron, has signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The deal keeps him with the organization through 2021. Ebron spent the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts but has also played for the Detroit Lions.

Ebron spent the 2019 season with the Indianapolis Colts as the team’s premier tight end. Injuries cut Ebron’s season short, as he was limited to just two starts on the year. Ebron compiled 375 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns on the season. He also averaged 12.1 yards per reception and 34.1 receiving yards per game. Ebron also compiled 31 receptions on 52 targets.

Ebron initially entered the league in 2014 as the 10th overall pick of the first round. Selected by the Detroit Lions, Ebron recorded 25 receptions for 248 yards and one touchdown his rookie year. Additionally, Ebron racked up 14 first downs, 9.9 yards per reception, and 19.1 yards per game.

In total, Ebron spent four seasons with the Detroit Lions. During his time there, the first-round tight end recorded 186 receptions for 2070 yards. Additionally, Ebron compiled 1 touchdown, 109 first down receptions, and averaged 38.5 yards per game.

Ebron spent the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. During his time there, Ebron recorded 9 receptions for 1125 yards and 16 touchdowns. Additionally, Ebron compiled 64 first down receptions, 11.6 yards per reception, and 41.7 yards per game.

Ebron earned his lone Pro Bowl nomination in 2018, his first season with the Colts. In four career playoff games, Ebron has recorded 13 receptions for 121 yards and one touchdown. Additionally in the post season, Ebron has seven first down receptions, 9.3 yards per reception, and 30.3 yards per game.

In March of 2019, Ebron signed a two-year, $ 13 million contract with the Colts. Ebron reportedly met with both the Indianapolis Colts and the Carolina Panthers during his first free agency stint.
