The fantasy football playoffs are officially upon us in all league formats. Now more than ever, it’s never been more important to monitor the waiver wire and make smart pickups to maximize your point total. With that in mind, Dak Prescott and Derek Carr are both poised for big weeks and are likely available on your waiver wire.
Fantasy Football: Dak Prescott, Derek Carr Highlight Week 15 Quarterback Waiver Claims
What a difference Amari Cooper makes. Ever since the Dallas Cowboys acquired the talented wideout, quarterback Dak Prescott has been one of the better fantasy quarterbacks in the league. In his latest outing, Prescott threw for 455 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions against the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles.
Prescott has one of the easiest closing schedules in the league, facing off against the Indianapolis Colts on the road before hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prescott has put up at least 14 fantasy points in standard scoring since Week Six against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s a reliable starter who can give you predictable production at quarterback.
Trusting Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is a risky proposition. Carr has flashed some of his natural ability throughout the season, but he’s put together two strong weeks of play. Since Week 13, Carr has thrown for 607 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions. While he hasn’t faced the best defenses in the world, Carr’s proving he has the ability to be a streamable candidate.
Carr has another easy matchup in Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals defense is one of the worst in the league, allowing the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks in standard scoring. Carr should continue his hot streak for at least another week against this subpar defense.
Monitor the injury report on this one. Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been on fire since coming back from a shoulder injury three weeks ago. Since his return, Tannehill has thrown for 606 yards and eight touchdowns to just one interception. While he doesn’t get the most yardage, he’s throwing a lot of touchdowns and is taking good care of the ball. He’s a low-ceiling, high-floor quarterback who can give you serviceable numbers in a two-quarterback league.
However, Tannehill might not play in Week 15. The Dolphins quarterback suffered an ankle injury just before halftime in Week 14’s showdown. While he returned to the field for the second half, trainers applied a significant amount of tape to said ankle. If Tannehill’s ankle swells up, Brock Osweiler takes over at quarterback. Do not play Brock Osweiler under any circumstances.
