At approximately 9:40pm, a 30-year-old man was physically assaulted in the Clutch Bar that Ezekiel Elliott was at. The man could not identify who assaulted him. At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been reported.
History Of Off-The-Field Issues For Ezekiel Elliott
Elliott has not been convicted of assault and is not a suspect, thus far. This incident, however, is the most recent in a slate of off-the-field issues. Elliott is currently under investigation for domestic violence accusations stemming from 2016. After the Josh Brown incident, the NFL really has no choice but to be thorough with Elliott’s case.
This is also adding to a series of incidents that have haunted Elliott since becoming an NFL player. In 2016, Elliott was at a marijuana dispensary in Seattle before his first preseason game against the Seahawks.
Marijuana is legal in the state of Washington, but it still looks bad on the running back. Marijuana is also still against the NFL’s drug policy as a part of the current collective bargaining agreement.
Ezekiel Elliott was in another incident at a Dallas bar in March of this year. Caught on camera, Elliott exposed a woman’s breast at a St. Patrick’s Day parade. The incident appears to be non-incident but still looks bad.
He was also in a car accident this past May. Being a passenger in a car accident is no crime and not at all Elliott’s fault. It does, however, add to the timeline of off-field issues.
Dallas is already having to deal with suspensions for Randy Gregory, David Irving, Nolan Carroll, and Damien Wilson this season. The last thing the Cowboys need is to add their star running back to that list.
